Frequently Asked Questions

Last updated:

This page answers the most common questions about Clawman, an AI-driven platform that automates SEO and GEO end to end: what it automates, how SEO differs from GEO, what atomic answers and llms.txt are, which AI crawlers we welcome, how the quality gate works, and how every claim on this site can be independently verified.

What does Clawman actually automate?

Clawman automates the entire organic growth workflow: keyword cluster planning, long-form content generation, an objective quality gate, on-page metadata and schema.org markup, GEO structuring (atomic answers, llms.txt, AI-crawler robots rules), internal linking, Git-based publishing, IndexNow URL submission, and measurement of rankings plus AI citations. Humans set goals and budgets; software executes every stage.

What is the difference between SEO and GEO?

SEO (search engine optimization) targets ranked lists of links on engines like Google and Bing. GEO (generative engine optimization) targets AI assistants — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews — that synthesize direct answers and cite sources. SEO optimizes for crawling, indexing, and ranking; GEO additionally optimizes for retrieval, comprehension, and citation by large language models.

What is an atomic answer?

An atomic answer is a self-contained summary of 40 to 60 words placed at the start of a section, directly answering the question the section heading poses. Because it is complete, specific, and quotable on its own, AI answer engines can lift it verbatim as a cited snippet — which is exactly the outcome GEO aims for.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a plain-text Markdown file served at a website's root (like robots.txt) that gives large language models a curated summary of the site: what it is, what its key pages contain, and where to find them. The convention is documented at llmstxt.org. Clawman maintains one for this site at https://www.clawman.pw/llms.txt.

Which AI crawlers does this site allow?

Our robots.txt explicitly allows GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot (OpenAI), ClaudeBot and Claude-SearchBot (Anthropic), PerplexityBot (Perplexity), Google-Extended (Google AI training), and all standard search crawlers such as Googlebot and Bingbot. Allowing these agents is a deliberate GEO decision: content that AI engines cannot fetch can never be cited.

What is Share of Citation?

Share of Citation measures, for a defined set of target queries, the fraction of AI-engine answers that cite your website. Clawman samples answers from engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, records which domains they cite, and computes the share attributable to your site. It is the GEO counterpart of a classic ranking position.

How does the quality gate prevent low-quality AI content?

Every draft must pass programmatic checks before publication: minimum word count, correct heading hierarchy, atomic-answer length of 40–60 words, entity density of at least three concrete entities or statistics per paragraph, and duplication limits. Failing drafts are regenerated with corrective feedback. Because the thresholds are code, the same standard applies to every page without exception.

Does automated publishing violate Google's guidelines?

No. Google's spam policy targets content generated primarily to manipulate rankings, regardless of how it is produced; it explicitly permits AI-generated content that is helpful and people-first. Clawman's quality gate exists precisely to enforce helpfulness objectively — pages that do not genuinely answer the target query are rejected before they are ever published.

What is IndexNow and why does Clawman use it?

IndexNow is an open protocol, adopted by Bing and other engines, that lets a website push new or updated URLs directly to search engines instead of waiting for a recrawl. A key file at the domain root proves ownership. Clawman submits every published URL through IndexNow within minutes of deployment, shortening time-to-index from days to hours.

Can I verify Clawman's claims about this website?

Yes. Every optimization claimed on this site is inspectable: view the HTML source for metadata and JSON-LD, fetch /robots.txt for AI-crawler rules, /llms.txt for the LLM summary, and /sitemap.xml for the page inventory. The repository also ships a Python audit script that re-checks more than 40 SEO and GEO criteria, so any third party can reproduce the results.

Is Clawman available today?

Clawman is in an early-access phase. The automation engine — keyword planning, content generation, quality gate, schema optimization, Git publishing, IndexNow submission, and citation monitoring — is implemented and under active testing on pilot sites. Public onboarding will open when pilot results meet our published quality bar.
